Project overview.
A national specialty grocery retailer needed expert support to implement and validate an Aruba wireless environment at its Stockton, California warehouse location. The company operated at significant scale, with hundreds of stores across the United States, a large employee base, and retail locations carrying tens of thousands of products across grocery, household, wellness, pet, and beverage categories.
Aruba had already completed the wireless design, bill of materials, and architecture. The client needed PM2 NET to bring that design into the field through planning, configuration, implementation, and validation. The engagement focused on turning an approved wireless architecture into a working warehouse-ready environment with stronger coverage, defined access controls, and validated security requirements.
PM2 NET provided the engineering and project management expertise needed to review the wireless design, confirm technical requirements, configure the Aruba components, and validate coverage after deployment.

(02)
Challenge.
The client’s primary need was to improve the signal strength and security of its Aruba wireless environment inside a warehouse setting. Although the wireless architecture had already been designed, the organization did not have specialty Aruba engineers available to validate and implement the solution at the Stockton site.
The project required careful coordination across wireless hardware placement, access point connectivity, IP addressing, VLAN requirements, access lists, port configuration, SSID structure, and wireless security models. PM2 NET also needed to review the management console configuration, AirWave Management Platform planning, and floor plan requirements tied to Aruba’s wireless management tools.
The work carried operational weight because warehouse wireless performance depends on reliable coverage across a large physical environment. Weak signal areas, inconsistent access rules, or misconfigured wireless components could affect device connectivity, inventory workflows, operational visibility, and day-to-day warehouse activity.
PM2 NET’s role was to bridge the gap between Aruba’s completed design and the client’s real-world implementation requirements.
(03)
Result.
PM2 NET helped the retailer implement and validate a large-scale Aruba wireless deployment at the Stockton warehouse location. The team reviewed the client’s expectations, confirmed technical requirements, and aligned the implementation with Aruba’s existing design and architecture.
The work included validation of hardware placement and connectivity, wireless security using a Pre-Shared Key, component naming conventions, IP address assignments, VLAN and access list requirements, port configuration, WLAN role and security models, SSID naming, management console configuration, VMware ESX server requirements, and AirWave Management Platform floor plan support.
By bringing in PM2 NET’s senior engineering expertise, the client gained a stronger wireless foundation for the warehouse environment. The implementation gave the organization better confidence in its Aruba coverage, security configuration, and operational readiness after deployment.
Key Outcomes
Validated Aruba wireless design for a warehouse environment
Configured access points and AirWave Management Platform requirements
Reviewed wireless security, SSID structure, VLANs, and access controls
Confirmed hardware placement, connectivity, and management requirements
Supported post-deployment coverage validation with senior engineering expertise
